In the future, Chris, who hasn’t changed much, is working as a cop and is married to a foul-mouthed hustler named Vanessa. Meg is now called Ron, since she had a sex-change after college.

When Johnny realizes that kidnapping means life sentence, he asks the servile scum Elvis Schmidt to kill the boy.

Shaw was forced to deal with the prejudices of both the enemy (who had orders to kill commanding officers of blacks), and of his own fellow officers.
